Ingredients

Main
  • 3 1/2 cups cold whole milk
  • 2 packages (3.4 oz each) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 tubs (8 oz each) whipped topping thawed
  • 30 chocolate sandwich cookies crushed (keep the creme filling in)
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
For Serving
  • Fresh strawberries
  • Pretzel sticks
  • Extra crushed cookies (optional for topping); optional

Method

  1. In a large chilled mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese and salt until smooth. Add cold milk and pudding mixes. Whisk vigorously 2 minutes until thickened.
  2. Gently fold in thawed whipped topping with a rubber spatula until no streaks remain. Do not overmix.
  3. Crush cookies using a food processor for fine crumbs or a rolling pin for chunkier pieces. Stir into the mixture until evenly distributed.
  4. Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour. For best results, transfer to the freezer for an additional 30 minutes before serving for a firmer, colder dip.
  5. Spoon into bowls and serve chilled with strawberries and pretzel sticks. Top with extra crushed cookies just before serving if desired.

How to Know It's Done

    Cook's Notes

    • Add crushed cookies just before serving rather than too far in advance — they stay crunchier that way.
    • Use instant pudding only. Cook-and-serve pudding will not set properly in this recipe.
