Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Method
 

  1. Combine heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Beat on low speed with a hand mixer 2 to 3 minutes until sugar is fully dissolved and mixture is smooth.
  3. Cover and refrigerate at least 1 to 2 hours, or overnight for best flavor and texture.
  4. Pour chilled mixture into ice cream maker and churn 15 to 20 minutes according to manufacturer’s instructions until desired consistency is reached.
  5. Serve immediately for soft-serve texture, or transfer to an airtight container and freeze 2 to 4 hours for a firmer scoop.
