Weeknight Air Fryer Chicken
Simply seasoned chicken breasts air-fried to juicy perfection with a lightly crisp exterior. A reliable weeknight staple ready in under 25 minutes.
Ingredients
Method
- Pat chicken breasts dry with paper towels. If breasts are uneven in thickness, lightly pound the thicker end to even them out.
- Rub chicken with olive oil. In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning if using. Season both sides of the chicken evenly, pressing the rub in.
- Preheat air fryer to 375 degrees F for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Place chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook at 375 degrees F for 8 to 10 minutes. Flip and cook an additional 6 to 8 minutes until cooked through.
- Transfer to a cutting board and rest 3 to 5 minutes before slicing.
How to Know It's Done
- Air fryer: 375 degrees F
- Chicken is done at an internal temperature of 165 degrees F. Rest before slicing to retain juices.
Cook's Notes
- Pounding the chicken to an even thickness before cooking eliminates the dry-on-the-outside, undercooked-in-the-middle problem entirely.
